Ecological Regeneration & Multispecies Futures

Terrapolis is a collective platform for ecological regeneration, Indigenous knowledge, and multispecies justice. Join our stories and podcasts.

The Origin of Terrapolis

“Staying with the trouble of complex worlding is the name of the game of living and dying well together on terra […] we are all responsible to and for shaping conditions for multispecies flourishing in the face of terrible histories.”

Donna J. Haraway

Drawing inspiration from Donna Haraway’s Staying with the Trouble, Terrapolis is an imagined yet possible world—a democratic space for scientists, Indigenous leaders, environmental lawyers, writers, humanities scholars, artists, activists, and all those committed to replenishing the Earth.

Terrapolis is not a place on any map—it is a future that has not yet arrived. A vision rooted in social justice, cultural diversity, and ecological regeneration, Terrapolis invites us to imagine a world beyond colonial violence and environmental collapse.

A future we must usher into being—together.

Here, we practice radical listening—to each other, to the land, to more-than-human kin. It is through listening that we begin to heal, to learn, and to co-create new ways of being.

Every episode of this podcast is a small step toward Terrapolis. Through conversations with those working to restore ecosystems, reclaim ancestral knowledge, and nurture justice in slow, rooted ways, we bring this imagined world a little closer.

Our Mission

We are devoted to bringing our audience the latest insights on ecosystem conservation and restoration, environmental justice, and decolonization. Our goal is to foster open dialogue and knowledge-sharing among those engaged in diverse conservation and restoration efforts, as well as grassroots environmental movements—especially, though not exclusively, in the Global South. We aim to build bridges across disciplines, geographies, and communities, encouraging solidarity among activists, practitioners, and visionaries working toward a more just, sustainable, and thriving world.

“All members of an ecological community are interconnected in a vast and intricate network of relationships, the web of life. Interdependence, the mutual dependence of all life processes on one another, is the nature of all ecological relationships.”

Fritjof Capra

Our Ethos: From Consumerism to Regenerative Culture

Modern societies often define identity and social worth through consumption—but what if we measured our lives by how much we give back? On Terrapolis, we invite you to imagine a different way of being: one rooted in reciprocity, not extraction. Here, we seek to restore our physical and spiritual relationships with the land—and with Gaia herself. Terrapolis is a regenerative island in a sea of turmoil, a place where care, justice, and renewal take root.

We are not isolated individuals but participants in a living web—each breath, action, and decision rippling through ecosystems seen and unseen. Terrapolis grows within the ever-extending web of regenerative nature and culture. To live regeneratively is to honor this web, to give back as much as we can, to cultivate reciprocity, and to listen deeply to the more-than-human world.
