Decolonization
Decolonization requires the kinds of analysis and imagination that dissolve fixed identities so we can find our way back to aspects of our humanness that center care—for one another, for the Earth, for our own bodies and minds as an assemblage of organisms and systems, for all the plant and animal relatives around us, for the water.
—Rupa Marya and Raj Patel. Inflamed: Deep Medicine and the Anatomy of Injustice.
Environmental Justice
The practice of hierarchical conservation colonialism is inherently unsustainable. Ecosystem conservation and restoration initiatives should place the issue of justice at the center of their project implementation, respecting native biodiversity, indigenous knowledge & human rights, and gender equality.
